Summer Fun

This is a collection of pictures from the past week. We are at the end of the soccer season. We spent a weekend at my sisters. It feels like summer for sure. Cameron is at a summer day camp this week. I am resting from the weekend away and I am getting ready for next weekends camping trip. It seems like the kids are living in their swim suits. We are all very thankful for good health, great extended family and friends. Let's not take these wonderful summer days for granted, enjoy the breeze, eat your ice cream slowly and never turn down a day at the beach.

Thoughts of the day...

Found a great deal on organic strawberries! So excited. And I don't even have to pick them, but I will be doing all the work to wash, clean, de-stem, and freeze.

Garage Sales were a huge success. We sold a few things at someone else's sale, and we also found the only 2 things we were looking for: A baseball mitt and rollerblades for Justin.

Searching the web for a good price on a small freezer. We are planning to buy one by the end of the month so we can stock up on organic chickens. Have a freezer my mom is giving us, but it is 5 hours away with no way of getting here, so I located a used one in South Bend for $50.

Big Decision to be made. Justin and I have been planning on competing in a tri-athalon this summer, but now we are considering an Adventure Race instead. We would be a team, it is a 6 hour race and you canoe, run, bike and also there are twists of the amazing race in it. We are given a map and a compass and we have to navigate ourselves through the course for about 6 hours. It sounds like tons of fun, and since Justin competed in one last weekend and his team won, we both have the bug! But, we also need some additional gear. And we need to make the decision like yesterday...

Cub Scouts is over! Oh yeah!

Soccer is in full swing. Boys are loving it!

Been playing lots of baseball in the back yard. Kids are still making tons of creative things with their Fusion Beads. Today they all did a couple puzzles. And the new big thing is Outside Bouncy Balls. The small and medium balls that bouncy like 50 feet in the air on pavement.

Cameron got a hair cut! About 4 inches taken off. He looks totally different.

I will include a few recent photos.

JOY

Last night I went for a long bike ride and was just overwhelmed with JOY. Yes, true JOY. It has been so nice having the kids home from school, having nice weather, feeling healthy, having energy, loving my family. So very much to be thankful for and to be JOYFUL about. The summer is just beginning and I am looking forward to each and every day! Yesterday I had time to lay in the sun, read, exercise, grocery shop and more. The kids have been having a blast with each other and with their friends. I am still amazed at how they are growing up and understanding so much more. Also they are helping around the house so much more, since schools out. I praise God for the seasons of life, and rejoice that JOY has come!
